Mum and baby fitness classes in Tunbridge Wells
Coached strength classes for new mums, three mornings a week, with your baby in the room. Start from six weeks after birth, wherever you’re starting from.
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday · 10am to 11am · Chapman Way, TN2 3EF
Who MumFit is for
Any mum between six weeks and 18 months after birth who wants to feel strong and capable in her own body again.
New to exercise
You’ve never set foot in a gym. Every movement is shown to you first and adapted to where you are.
Coming back to training
You trained before pregnancy and want a structured way back, without guessing what your body is ready for.
Already back, juggling naps
You’re exercising again but fitting it around feeds and sleeps. Here, your baby simply comes with you.
Looking for your people
You’d like an hour with mums at the same stage as you, rather than another thing to do on your own.
Why it’s worth your hour
Strength for the job you’re doing all day
Lifting a car seat, carrying a baby on one hip, getting up off the floor again and again. Rebuilding your core and building real strength makes every one of those easier, and it carries on paying off long after the baby stage.
A coach who understands recovery
Nick is qualified to coach women through pregnancy and after birth. You move on when your body is ready, judged by how you’re recovering, not by a calendar or by what anyone else in the room is lifting.
No childcare to arrange
Your baby is with you for the whole hour, on mats and toys beside you. The sessions are built to be interrupted, so stopping for a feed, a change or a cuddle is part of the plan.
Mums who get it
The same faces each week, all at a similar stage. Most weeks the group heads across the road to Penelope Coffee Roasters afterwards, and that part has become as much a part of MumFit as the training.
What a class looks like
Each class is an hour of coached strength and conditioning, built around rebuilding your core and a gradual return to fuller training. Nick demonstrates everything first and gives each mum a version that suits her recovery, so a mum at seven weeks and a mum at a year can train side by side.
- Babies on play mats right beside you, with toys out for them
- Feed or change whenever you need to, in the gym or in our lounge if you’d like privacy
- No gym experience needed: every session is paced to you

Your coach, Nick
Nick Cullen is a CrossFit Level 2 Trainer, qualified to coach women through pregnancy and after birth, and a local dad of two girls. He left a corporate career to coach full time, and he built MumFit here at our gym.
“The opportunity to hang out with you and your babies is some of the most fun coaching I get to do all week.”

What MumFit mums say
“I’ve absolutely loved MumFit! It’s been such a great way to get back into fitness, meet other mums and bring your baby along too. Nick is a fab coach who makes everyone feel so welcome.”
“I’ve been going to MumFit since the first session and it’s been the best thing for my postpartum journey! … Nick is amazing at making sure you are pushing yourself and making the workouts relative to your fitness and postpartum health.”
“It’s a fantastic community, and a great concept … without having to worry about childcare. Nick is a brilliant coach (and baby whisperer). No prior CrossFit experience needed, as all sessions can be adapted to your own ability.”
Questions mums ask
When can I start?
From six weeks after birth, once you’ve had your GP check, whatever kind of birth you had. From there, how you progress depends on how your body is recovering, not on a set timeline.
I had a caesarean or a difficult recovery. Can I still come?
Yes. Talk to Nick before you book and he’ll work out the right starting point with you, then adjust as you go.
Up to what age can my baby come?
MumFit is for mums up to 18 months after birth, counted from when you buy. If your baby reaches 18 months partway through a pack, you can finish it.
Is there a crèche?
No. Your baby stays with you and in your care for the hour. We put mats and toys out, and the workouts are designed so you can stop whenever your baby needs you.
Can I bring my older children?
The room is set up for babies up to 18 months, so we’re not able to take older children.
What should I bring?
Clothes you can move in, trainers and some water. For your baby, whatever you’d normally take for a few hours out, plus a favourite toy or bouncer if they have one.
Do I need to have done CrossFit before?
No. Everything is demonstrated first and adapted to you, and you don’t need to be a member of the gym.
I’m pregnant again. Can I keep coming?
If you’re already training with MumFit and become pregnant within 18 months, yes. Nick is qualified in pregnancy training too and will adapt your sessions. For training during a first pregnancy, email nick@crossfittunbridgewells.co.uk.
